Growing up in New Orleans music was everywhere. From church choir, dabbling in violin and saxaphone in elementary school, to picking up djembe as a teenager, Toussaint has always been close to music if he wasn't creating it himself. As a DJ, the goal is always to play 70% what the crowd knows and loves, 25% what they didn't know they needed to hear (author Derek Thompson's "familiar surprises"), and once you're in the zone, partying with your guard down--5% amazingly unfamiliar music!
